Fundraiser Ideas

All fundraiser ideas can be profitable if you know how to implement them into your fundraising strategy.  Ever wonder how some organizations are able to raise so much money yet your fundraiser ideas and efforts seem to result in dismal earnings?  Well take some time to really set a goal for your fundraiser and then schedule a time line when you will reach that goal.  For example, if you need to raise $10,000 dollars then write that amount down to achieve that goal in 3 months.  Then decide what fundraiser ideas you will have every month or even every week depending on your profit margin and return on your fundraiser product.

Here is an example of some fundraiser ideas that will reach a goal of $10,000 in three months for a church or non profit organization.  These results are just goals and your results will depend on your effort as a motivated group.  Ok, so we now have 12 weeks to come up with $10,000.

Fundraiser Ideas

1st week:  Candy Sales – These sales usually will have a 50% return so shoot for goal of $500

2nd week:  Chicken Dinners -Small investment with large return. Shoot for goal of $1,000.  During this time, you want to start putting out the word for your portrait fundraiser and silent auction donations.

3rd week: Collect for picture fundraiser and silent auction items. During this time, you want to put the word out for the coming fundraisers of bowling night and talent show.

4th week:  Family portrait fundraiser -This is completely free so shoot for 100 families photographed.  This will give you $2,000 profit.  During this time you want to have another baked goods sale while the families are there getting there picture taken.  This is another $500.

5th week:  Start auditions for the talent show.  This is no cost as well.  Get singers, groups, bands, comedians, kids, dancers, etc.  Solicit stores and local businesses for prize donations.  Don’t make your top prize money. This will take the fun out of your talent show and take away from the ultimate reason and purpose of your fundraising goal.

6th week:  Car wash – This can be a very little investment when you get your people to voluntee.  Shoot for a $500 goal.

7th week: Bowling for dollars:  This is a very small investment too.  Shoot for $1,000.

8th week:  Talent show night:  This is going to be a blast.  Keep it fun.  Shoot for $1,000 in ticket sales and $500 in concession snack stand.

9th week:  Fundraiser break.  However, you are putting the word out about the silent auction.  Keep collecting items for your auction.  Talent show is a great opportunity to collect items as well.  Also let your participants know that next week is the Great Spaghetti Dinner.

10th week:  Spaghetti Dinner – Pasta is one of the great dinners that everyone loves.  It can be inexpensive to feed the masses with a spaghetti dinner.  Have a variety of pastas to choose from.  For example, include penne, lasagna and cold pasta salads and different sauces as well.  Shoot for $1,000 profit.

11th week:  Pancake Breakfast: This is great on a Sunday morning after service.  Folks are always hungry after Sunday church service so take advantage of it.  Offer different toppings for the pancakes like bananas, blueberries, chocolate chips and other.  Shoot for $500 profit.

12th week:  Silent Auction -This is another one of the great fundraiser ideas because it didn’t cost you a thing to sell all those donated items you received in the last 3 months.  At this point, you should have a variety of high end and low ticket items.  Don’t forget to always ask local businesses to donate product and services as well.  They love to get free advertising whenever they can.  Shoot for a $1,500 profit for this fundraiser.

Fundraiser Ideas

So as you can see this should bring in upwards of $10,000 or more for these fundraiser ideas.  However, you can choose the fundraiser ideas that will best fit your group.  Just get out there and get motivated to raise the funds you need.  Good luck to you.
